Tianlian was founded in 1999 and has focused on urban pipeline networks for 27 years. It has won the Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements from China Building Materials Industry, drafted the national standard for "Manhole Covers", and exported products to 39 countries, becoming a well-known brand in the building materials sector.

In 2013, Hunan Tianlian Urban CNC Co., Ltd. was established, entering the smart IoT industry. In 2017, it began military-civilian integration with China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), founded Hunan Tianlian Sensing Technology Co., Ltd., and established the China Aerospace (Hunan) Sensing Technology Center.

Currently, Tianlian is a National High-tech Enterprise, Military-Civilian Integration Enterprise, Intelligent Manufacturing Demonstration Enterprise, Leader in Gas Safety Monitoring, and a participating drafter of the "Safety Technical Standard for Operation, Maintenance and Emergency Repair of Urban Gas Facilities". Tianlian people take "Safeguarding Urban Safety with Technology" as their mission, using sensing, IoT, AI and other technologies to provide safety early warning, intelligent control, data application solutions for urban lifelines: gas, water, electricity, rail transit, bridges & tunnels, municipal engineering.
